Welcome to Roxywood Farms!

2008-winter-llama-pictures-016.jpgHere at Roxywood Farms we enjoy everything there is about llamas. Located just 15 miles East of Memphis Tennessee, our small farm is the picture perfect spot to raise and love the llama! When we’re not showing off our llamas in the show ring, we enjoy taking our critters to the park for a hike or down the road for a stroll. Since we are a small farm, all of our llamas are handled on a regular basis.  All of our llamas are halter broke and patient of grooming, shearing, toe trimming etc. We particularly enjoy showing people how versatile the llama can be and how quickly they can pick up training for Obstacles, PR, Pack and that they can be used as therapy animals!! Imagine the surprise of a llama visit at a nursing home or elementary school!parade-routesmall-_edited-3.jpg

We specialize in the marketability of unique bloodlines on conformationally correct llamas with stellar personalities. We enjoy a wide range of fiber types from suri, to single coat silky and from medium wool to heavy wool coverage. We have a special weakness for llamas with good personalities, so if you want a family llama to enjoy, show or breed… check out our sales page! 2008-winter-llama-pictures-010.jpg

Oka is clearly the best quality girl on the farm.  Originating from the Rain Dance Ranch program in California,  and coming to Roxywood Farms though Klien Himmel Llamas in Indiana, we were extremely lucky to receive the opportunity to own both Oka and her incredible daughter Joy.

Oka is full Chilean, with genetically strong bloodlines, and she has completed her ALSA - ROM requirements. In fact, Oka is only one grand away from her ALSA Halter Champion status!!  Most recently, Oka won a Reserve Grand at the 2009 LAARK show in MWF, even as the oldest girl in the group, and shown in  a nudie cut!

Oka is the primary foundation girl at Roxywood Farms and we’re excited to have her bring her extremely correct conformation, excellent bloodlines, size and stretch to our farm production. In addition, Oka is a flashy colored up girl who should throw some future champion cria!

Oka is currently bred, for a Spring 2010 cria, to the pure Peruvian male-  AUREANO (ILR# 200187), who is an incredibly correct silver and white splashy male for a spring 2010 cria.  We’re banking on a outcross grand champion out of this pair!

Show record: Aside from a VERY long list of accomplishments, to be added later… Oka has earned the following, while owned by RoxywoodFarms:

NorthEast Tennessee Llama Show -White Pine TN, May 2008 : 2nd - Adult MWF, 2nd- Dbl Coat Walking Fleece

LAARK, March 2009: Reserve Grand, 1ST MWF !!!
